  • Assisted Living (A): No Routine Attendance
    Assisted Living (Type A)

    Assisted living facilities provide individualized health and personal care assistance in a homelike setting with an emphasis on personal dignity, autonomy, independence and privacy.

    Facilities can be large apartment-like settings or private residences. Services include meals, bathing, dressing, toileting and administering or supervising medication.

    A Type A facility cares for residents who do not require routine attendance during sleeping hours and are capable of following directions in an emergency.
  • Assisted Living (B): Routine Attendance
    Assisted Living (Type B)

    Assisted living facilities provide individualized health and personal care assistance in a homelike setting with an emphasis on personal dignity, autonomy, independence and privacy.

    Facilities can be large apartment-like settings or private residences. Services include meals, bathing, dressing, toileting and administering or supervising medication.

    A Type B facility is for residents who require staff assistance to evacuate, are not capable of following directions in an emergency and require nighttime attendance.
  • Assisted Living (C): Adult Foster Care
    Assisted Living (Type C)

    Assisted living facilities provide individualized health and personal care assistance in a homelike setting with an emphasis on personal dignity, autonomy, independence and privacy.

    A Type C facility is a four-bed facility that provides provides a supervised, 24-hour living arrangement in an adult foster home for people who are unable to continue living independently in their own homes because of a physical, mental or emotional limitation.

    Adult foster care providers and residents live in the same household and share a common living area.
  • Intermediate Care for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities
    Intermediate Care for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities

    Residential and habilitation services for people with intellectual disabilities and/or a related condition as determined by The Social Security Administration.
  • Nursing Home
    Nursing Homes

    These provide institutional care to Medicaid recipients whose medical condition regularly requires the skills of licensed nurses.

    The nursing facility must provide for the total medical, social and psychological needs of each client, including room and board, social services, over-the-counter drugs, medical supplies and equipment, and personal needs items.
